Festival Success!

Last weekend we played at Orwell Bluegrass Festival at Orwell, Suffolk.  It's such an amazing festival.  The site is a large Scout camp, and at this time of year, there are fields and fields of yellow oil seed and blue bell woods, leading down to the estuary and out to sea (if you like)...The gang of kids we fed and housed between us all more or less were left to their own devices, and at times we found them at the tops of impossibly tall trees (which was a bit nerve-wracking). Gosh, put it in your diary and take the trip next year.  Chris and his team do a fantastic job.

We ate like kings (or queens, I suppose)... and our souls were fed on the most exquisitely beautiful music.  Watch out for 'The Midnight Skyracers' (all girl bluegrass band - absolutely stunning musicianship and SUCH fun!) And 'Shooting Stars' (the coollest suits in town).  They  were the best entertainment I've seen in ages. Great music.  We felt really privileged to be among these giants of musical wow-manship.

We played on Saturday afternoon to a packed marquee-tent.  We had a great time and the audience told us they loved it too.  Monday was hard...I love my job, but sunny Suffolk with hundreds of friends (felt like I knew everybody, almost) takes a lot of beating.  Wish it lasted at least a week.

Next gig at the lovely Victoria in Lincoln, with the added bonus of not being 3 hours' drive away.  Saturday 27th May.  Hope to see some of you there!
